The Cibola County Historical Society began developing the Aviation Heritage Museum in 2011 at the Grants-Milan Airport. The museum honors the pioneer aviators who flew the 1929 Los Angeles to Amarillo Airway, part of a groundbreaking coast to coast route designed by Charles Lindbergh for Transcontinental Air Transport.
The Western New Mexico Aviation Heritage Museum is fully run and operated by volunteers who take pride in preserving the stories of aviation. Our work is made possible through membership support and The City of Grants lodger’s tax funding. If you’re interested in becoming a member, volunteering, or supporting our mission in any way, we’d love to hear from you.
